How to pay for Crunchyroll in Nigeria

Depending on your account, Crunchyroll charges in naira or in US dollars. Naira cards are often declined for dollar payments online, or held to a small monthly limit. A dollar card pays it: you load the card with naira, it holds dollars, and Crunchyroll charges it like any Visa card. Milo gives you a virtual dollar card inside WhatsApp, with no app to download.

How it works

  1. Message Milo on WhatsApp and open your account. You need your BVN, your date of birth and a 4-digit PIN you choose. It takes about a minute.
  2. Say card. Milo shows you what the card costs before you approve anything, then creates your virtual dollar card.
  3. Load it. Say Fund my card with $20, with whatever amount you need. Milo shows the exact naira before you approve with your PIN.
  4. Pay Crunchyroll. Say card details to see the card number, expiry and CVV through a private link, and enter them where Crunchyroll asks for a card.

Questions

Why is my naira card declined on Crunchyroll?

Nigerian banks limit what a naira card can spend in foreign currency, and many block online dollar payments altogether. The card is refused by your bank, not by the merchant. A card that holds dollars is not subject to that limit.

Can I pay for Crunchyroll with a virtual dollar card?

Yes, wherever Crunchyroll accepts Visa cards online. You enter the card number, expiry and CVV at checkout as you would with any card. A few merchants do not take virtual cards; if one refuses yours, your money stays on the card.

What happens if the card does not have enough on it?

The payment is declined and nothing is taken. Milo tells you in the chat at once, with what the merchant asked for, so you can load the card and try again.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Milo works inside WhatsApp. You open the account, get the card, load it and see its details from the same chat.
